Thrive Covid-19 Update – Thank You to Staff and Donors

Thrive Support & Advocacy logo

I hope this new week brings good health to all. To date, our staff and participants are staying healthy and well cared for during this uncertain time. Per the updated advisory from Governor Baker, Thrive headquarters will remain closed with all staff working virtually until May 4. The team continues to be available by phone or email from 9-5 PM Monday through Friday.  Thrive’s four community residences are operating 24-7 with strict safety and disinfecting protocols in place. The homes remain closed to all visitors and are open to essential personnel only.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated residential staff who have been working hard to keep Thrive participants safe and active. Every day they are going above and beyond, even limiting contact in their personal lives to keep the participant’s virus-free. In addition, they’re developing engaging and creative activities that are keeping stress-levels low and promoting movement and joy. From group exercise classes and celebrating birthdays, to dance parties and a “Mexican Day” complete with a pinata, everyone is staying active, engaged, and positive.

These highlights would not be possible without support from the entire Thrive community. Last week when we asked, you stepped up in a big way. Since putting the word out about our need for homemade face mask donations, we have received more than 150 masks and are still receiving them. Many have also stepped up to donate much-needed supplies, gift cards, and financial donations. Everyone in the organization feels the love and caring stemming from your generosity. For that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

If you are looking for more ways to help out, we are still in need of gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, disinfectant spray, and “Sponsor a Meal” gift cards. “Sponsor a Meal” entails donating gift cards from local take-out-only restaurants to be used to purchase a special meal at one of our community residences. Mail gift card donations to Thrive Support & Advocacy, 65 Boston Post Road West, Suite 220, Marlborough, MA 01752, and supply donations can either be mailed or dropped in the drop box at the above address.

Also, don’t forget about Thrive’s virtual ways to stay connected:

Until we meet again next week, I can’t thank you enough for your support over the past few weeks. Working together, we are solidifying our organization’s mission and commitment to the families and participants we support. Stay healthy and safe.

Best,
Sean Rose
