Family Support Center
“Disability does not define our ‘Thrivers,’ they are defined by their greatest strengths and brightest attributes.”
The Family Support Center in Thrive’s Worcester area office is critical to its mission of empowering youth and adults with developmental disabilities, and their families, to lead rich, active and self-directed lives.
Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS), the Family Support Center serves our Worcester County families in Auburn, Boylston, Holden, Leicester, Paxton, Shrewsbury, West Boylston and Worcester, and provides English- and Spanish language information, resources and much-needed support in gaining access to the following programs and services:
- In-home support
- Adult companion and respite
- Administration of FLEX Funding
- DESE/DDS wrap-around services
- Assistance with navigating additional services (see list)
The Family Support Center also offers an array of social and recreational activities and educational workshops. Any Thriver can participate in our popular programming offered in Central Massachusetts, like the Thrive After School Community (TASC), Leadership Experience And Development (LEAD), vacation club and community field trips to the YMCA, movies, bowling and other activities.
