Rose: Families need enhanced SNAP benefits
A major upheaval in our region will occur on March 2, when the amount of nutrition assistance provided through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is scheduled to fall to pre-pandemic levels of about $6 per day. This comes at a time when food prices and utility costs are surging and too many families must decide between putting food on the table, keeping the lights on and paying their rent or mortgage bill.
